This new scarf from Borges & Scott is a great addition to their range of luxury tweed caps, which are available in a variety of Scottish Harris and Irish tweeds. It is unusual in being made entirely from Irish wool - following the decline in the Irish wool industry, the vast majority of woollen products made in Ireland are actually made from imported wool. That's not the case here. Borges & Scott have carefully searched to bring you a totally Irish product with this warm and soft scarf.
The stylish "Kilkenny" scarf from Borges & Scott is made from some of the world's finest wool - 100% Lambswool from a single Irish Galway sheep flock. Unlike other "Irish" wool scarves which often use imported wool, the wool used here is taken only from the lamb's first sheering. It is then spun and woven into this classic scarf in one of Ireland's historic mills.
At 205cm (6 feet 9 inches) long and 27cm (11 inches) wide, this scarf can be comfortably wrapped around the neck once or twice depending on your preference. The sustainable 100% wool has been proven over centuries to withstand the worst conditions of the Atlantic coast of Ireland. This scarf will keep you warm and stylish whilst maintaining the natural breathable properties of wool whatever the winter brings. The soft Lambswool is smooth and much less 'scratchy' than normal wool.
These warm Irish scarves look great when paired with a stylish Borges & Scott flat cap, available in a range of matching Irish or Harris tweeds. Arriving packed in a high quality recyclable gift box, this scarf makes the perfect gift for anyone who has Irish heritage or just loves the Emerald Isle.
This is a 100% Irish wool scarf - one of the last Irish sheep flocks suited for making clothing are feeding in Irish fields on lush Irish grass. The wool used in Borges & Scott's scarves is fully traceable to this flock. The wool only comes from the lambs in this flock's first sheering at an age of 6-8 months and is spun, dyed and woven into these terrific scarves in one of the few surviving traditional wool mills in Ireland.
